What should be valued in life?

Sometimes it comes to my mind that whatever I have always been concerned with, family, friendship and motherland, vanishes away all at one; a sense of losing all your faith all at the same time; it causes me think whatever I have done proudly might be have been all non-sense and futile; some sort of stupidity and short/simple-mindedness. Then I feel annoyed and unconfident about myself; dubious about what I’m doing now or planning to do in the future; some sort of feeling unsure about everything. It passes through my mind what if I abandon whatever I have lived for and the way of mannerism that I have stuck to up to day.
Sergio Leone in Once Upon a time in America gives a frustrating big picture of human friendship. “Noodles” played by Robert De Niro is a passionate about friendship. His mind and life has been oriented and actually governed up to old age by memories of his roughly half a century ago four friends of adolescence period, since they were fighting intimately for life as newly-arrived immigrants along with each other in the early 19th century New York city. Three of his friends die young in a fire accident filling his life full of sorrow afterwards. But anyway in the last scene of the film he realises that he has always been betrayed by his closest friend of the four (the one still alive); that he has been blocked from his big chances of life; that he is a big LOSER.
In the South Korean-made TV series of “The Emperor of the Sea”, now being aired by Iranian TV, two old enemies come across each other. In a scene, the bad man “Yon Jang” while planning to revenge the good man “Gong Bok” for a long time has been forced to seek refuge to the prosperous good man to save his own life form another common enemy. The good man faces the question of whether to admit or arrest him while he is aware of the bad man’s ambition of revenge. He finally decides to accept him but at the same time informs the bad man of his awareness of what he is doing now and its possible consequences such as an assassination in the future.
Probably the bad when reached to his target, would ridicule the good. Now what would be judgment of the society? Was the good man right to admit the bad man?
I eventually look suspiciously about what is really a value in our life and what is not. What should be really valued? Every body talks about his/her own values of life with some values in common. But this commonness and repetitiveness makes them look even more ridiculous and unreliable…
Sometime our life really looks null; nothing there in…
